THE JEWELRY/METALSMITHING STUDIO

The jewelry/metalsmithing studio was designed to give each student their own work space and place the basic tools needed at their fingertips. Each work station consist of a jewelry saw, needle nose pliers, wire cutters, cutting block and a foot pedal operated carver/grinder. All other aspects of the studio sandblaster, enameling kiln, etching vent, centrifical force casting machine, 20-ton press, fabricating equipment, soldering station and work table have been placed for easy access.
Students in jewelry learn the basics of jewelry making such as design, metal cutting and soldering using nickle silver, brass and copper metals. Our curriculm also includes jewelry make with found objects, silver ring casting, fabrication and metalsmithing. The class can be made up of four levels of students starting with the first semester- basic, second semester- intermediate, third semester- advanced and fourth semester- independent study.

Fabricated Rings

Rings were fabricated using Corian countertop material for the band and metal.
